I've never blogged before but many of my colleagues in ARCCSS do, so I thought I'd give it a go. There are loads of blogs written by climate scientists covering interesting bits of science as well as personal thoughts on the state of meteorology and climate science. I'll do a bit of both in semi-regular posts.
I occasionally read blogs but I'm certainly not an avid reader. I think there's great value in blogs though as they can often spark ideas for research as well as raising and discussing important issues in our area of science (like the under-representation of female climate scientists and the lack of permanent jobs in our field).
